Accounts Assistant (Part-Time)
16–20 hours per week | Flexible working available
£14–£15 per hour (depending on experience)
STEM Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a well-established and growing manufacturing business in their search for a Part-Time Accounts Assistant.
Our client operates within a specialist engineering and manufacturing environment, delivering high-quality, bespoke solutions to a diverse customer base across the UK and internationally. With continued growth and investment, they are now looking to strengthen their finance function with an organised and proactive individual.
The Role
This is a varied role combining accounts and administrative responsibilities, ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Processing invoices and statements, including opening, logging, and filing
- Inputting purchase invoices into the system accurately
- Matching invoices to purchase orders and processing via Sage
- Reconciling supplier statements and preparing payment runs
- Handling supplier queries in a timely and professional manner
- Liaising with procurement to resolve discrepancies
- Managing the accounts inbox and telephone queries
- Providing general administrative support (filing, scanning, archiving)
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in an accounts or finance administration role
- Working knowledge of Sage 200 or similar accounting systems
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- High attention to detail and excellent organisational ability
- Ability to manage workload, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines
- Confident communication skills, particularly when dealing with suppliers
- A flexible, proactive approach and willingness to support wider teams
