We currently have an exciting opportunity available for a proactive and results-driven Business Development Manager to join a global contract testing organisation. The company provides a wide range of services and products that support industries in engineering, environmental testing, and regulatory compliance. The role will cover the North of England, and you will be expected to have the flexibility to travel within this territory.
Role Overview: As the Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for driving new business opportunities and managing key accounts. Your role will involve exceeding sales targets, developing new client relationships, and ensuring a seamless, customer-focused experience. This position requires strong sales skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively with other departments.
Key Responsibilities:

Sales and Revenue Growth: Exceed sales order targets while providing commercial support to operational counterparts to meet revenue goals.

Customer Engagement: Engage with prospective clients, identify their needs, match them with products and services, and overcome objections.

Key Account Management: Maintain and grow relationships with existing key accounts while identifying opportunities to cross-sell services.

New Business Development: Identify and secure new business customers to expand the client base year on year.

Contract Negotiation: Manage tenders, negotiate contracts, and secure large contracts, SLAs, and call-off contracts.

Proactive Communication: Respond to RFQs and submit proposals/quotations in a timely and consistent manner, ensuring that the forecast remains current and up-to-date.

Customer Relationship Management: Build long-term relationships with customers, operational teams, and other stakeholders, ensuring a world-class customer experience.

CRM Management: Accurately update CRM with activities, actions, and customer interactions, ensuring seamless communication across teams.

Industry Presence: Represent the company at trade shows, conferences, and marketing events, showcasing our products and services to a wider audience.
Experience & Qualifications:

Sales Experience: Minimum of 3 years in a sales environment, with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.

Industry Knowledge: Strong knowledge of IT, regulatory compliance, ISO 17025 (or similar quality management system), and engineering or science disciplines.
