STEM Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a well-established environmental services business to recruit a talented Company Accountant to join their finance team based in Grantham.
This is a pivotal finance role within a dynamic organisation that delivers recycling and resource recovery solutions across the UK and Ireland. As Company Accountant, you will support the Finance Manager and play a key role in preparing, analysing, and reporting financial information that supports robust decision-making and business performance.
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare weekly and monthly management accounts for multiple profit centres ready for review.
• Produce and analyse key performance indicators to support commercial decisions.
• Analyse financial performance against budgets and forecasts and prepare insightful variance analysis.
• Prepare commercial reports for leadership on a weekly, monthly and annual basis.
• Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
• Work collaboratively with operational teams to develop costings versus budgets.
• Assist with annual budget and forecast preparation, plus provide cover for payroll and Finance Manager duties as required.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
• Qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA or equivalent) with minimum 2 years’ relevant experience.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, and accounting principles.
• Excellent Excel skills with a proven eye for detail and accuracy.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to deliver quality financial insight.
• Proactive, organised and able to manage competing deadlines independently.
• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Business Central) and multi-site business finance is desirable.
