We are seeking a Lab Assistant for a summer placement based in Ayrshire. The role involves providing analytical support within a manufacturing environment, specifically focusing on testing raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products to uphold quality, efficiency, and legislative compliance. You will interpret results, communicate findings to production teams, and ensure laboratory equipment is properly maintained. The position requires supporting continuous improvement initiatives and ensuring regulatory systems are adhered to, including ISO standards. The role demands accurate record-keeping and diligent analysis to support project delivery within the technical team.
- Degree in a relevant science subject
- Lab technical skills with practical understanding of laboratory equipment and procedures
- Experience in analytical method development and validation (desirable)
- Experience in equipment maintenance (desirable)
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
This is a fantastic opportunity for a current student to gain invaluable hands-on experience in a busy industrial Lab. The ideal candidates will be currently studying an Analytical focused degree i.e. Analytical Chemistry, Forensics, Biomedical Sciences and be able to commit to a fulltime summer placement in Ayrshire. A current drivers licence would be very beneficial due to the location of the site and limited public transport.
