STEM Recruitment is currently seeking a dedicated Laboratory Scientist for our client in Edinburgh & the Lothians, Scotland. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting laboratory operations, ensuring adherence to health and safety standards, and maintaining accurate documentation of experiments and procedures. The successful candidate will work closely with the team to perform sample analysis, conduct routine tests, and assist in the preparation of reports. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience within the diagnostics industry on a contract basis.
This is a 12 week temp contract.
Job details:
- Preparing and testing ruminant blood, tissue and faecal samples by ELISA
- General housekeeping
- Reviewing quality control data
- Reporting results in LIMS
- Routine maintenance of laboratory equipment
- Assist in complying with current health and safety procedures and enhancing the health and safety culture of the laboratory
Skill and Experience:
- Preferably degree qualified
- Previous experience as a Laboratory Technician / Scientist within a regulated laboratory environment.
- High throughput testing using ELISA
- Ability to accurately record and analyse data
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
