STEM Recruitment is currently seeking a dedicated Laboratory Technician for our client in Edinburgh & the Lothians, Scotland. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting laboratory operations, ensuring adherence to health and safety standards, and maintaining accurate documentation of experiments and procedures. The successful candidate will work closely with the team to perform sample analysis, conduct routine tests, and assist in the preparation of reports. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience within the pharmaceutical industry on a contract basis.
This is a 12 week initial temp contract.
Job details:
- Preparing and testing ruminant blood, tissue and faecal samples by ELISA
- General housekeeping • Reviewing quality control data
- Reporting results in LIMS • Routine maintenance of laboratory equipment
- Selection and procurement of lab equipment and consumables
- Support staff training, supervision and deputising for the Senior Laboratory Scientist
- To help maintain the current UKAS accreditation status of the laboratory including internal and external quality assessment exercises
- Assist in complying with current health and safety procedures and enhancing the health and safety culture of the laboratory
Skill and Experience:
- Previous experience as a Laboratory Technician within a regulated laboratory environment.
- High throughput testing using ELISA
- Ability to accurately record and analyse data
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
