Our client is seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Electrician to join their team in a busy manufacturing environment. This role is vital for ensuring the continuous operation and safety of heavy-duty machinery through proactive maintenance and rapid troubleshooting.
The ideal candidate is a time-served technician who is comfortable working independently, particularly during night shifts where they will serve as the primary responder for plant issues.
Key Responsibilities

Perform troubleshooting, repairs, and preventative maintenance on motors, transformers, switchgear, breakers, and lighting systems

Execute plant isolations and issue permits when authorised

Conduct regular equipment inspections, calibrations, and data collection to identify potential failures early

Adhere strictly to all safety systems and policies, including risk assessments and the permit-to-work system

Support root cause analysis (RCA) for plant issues and contribute to long-term corrective actions

Use CMMS to generate work requests and maintain accurate equipment histories

Coordinate with other departments to manage repairs and ensure seamless shift handovers via detailed shift reports.
Experience and Qualifications

HND or an equivalent qualification

Time-served Electrical Technician

Minimum of 5–6 years of experience in a manufacturing environment involving heavy-duty machinery

Thorough knowledge of HV/LV systems, motor control circuits, automation, and instrumentation.

Proven ability to work independently, specifically to handle the demands of a night shift rotation.

Strong troubleshooting abilities and the capacity to interpret complex electrical and process control drawings.

A 17th Edition Wiring Certificate is highly desirable
