We are seeking a talented microfluidic specialist to join our client’s innovative team as an R&D Scientist based in Glasgow, Scotland. This role focuses on developing and optimising lab-on-a-chip systems for immunoassay applications, translating laboratory concepts into commercially viable products. The successful candidate will lead efforts in microfluidic device design, assay integration, and system automation, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure robust development and validation of diagnostic platforms. A background in medical devices, experience with magnetic nanoparticle-based assays, and expertise in lab-based microfluidics are highly desirable for this position.
- Significant hands-on experience in microfluidic system development and assay integration
- Background in bioengineering, biotechnology, or related fields; PhD advantageous
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and design experimental programmes
- Experience with lab-on-a-chip systems, device fabrication, and automation
- Strong experimental science background and data analysis skills
- Excellent communication skills in scientific environments
- Ability to work independently within a collaborative team
